Alpha Xi Delta

Psi at The Ohio State University

Chapter Philanthropy

The Psi Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta is excited to bring Autism Speaks to The Ohio State campus community.  The world's largest Autism advocacy organization, Autism Speaks is dedicated to increasing awareness and acceptance of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) by funding research and advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families.

Our sisters look forward to increasing autism awareness on our campus and working with Autism Speaks.  With 1 out of every 68 children diagnosed with Autism and no known cure, Alpha Xi Delta is committed to improving the lives of families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders.  We hope our fundraising and awareness efforts can help put one more piece of the Autism puzzle in place.

The Psi chapter supports Autism Speaks in many different ways. We participate in the Autism Speaks Walk in Columbus, where we have been recognized as a Grand Club Member (2009) and get to interact with the families that we are working so hard to support. Alpha Xi Delta is the National Presenting Sponsor for all Autism Speaks Walks across North America, making this annual walk even more special to our sisters. Also, we recently began raising money for Autism Speaks through our Xi Man competition. This competition allows different fraternity men to compete in hopes of becoming the next Psi chapter sweetheart. The competition includes an autism trivia portion and all the sales from shirts and tickets go towards Autism Speaks. Finally, in the Spring, we host a barbecue, Grillin' with the Xi's, as one final way to raise money during the school year. This year, we are proud to announce that Grillin' with the Xi's raised $1,500 for Autism Speaks!

It doesn't stop there though! We have had sisters go above and beyond when it comes to working with ASD and Autism Speaks. Many sisters have become ABA therapists, interns at the Autism Speaks Headquarters, and have even been invited to the Autism Speaks Convention.
